John Simpson: John was born into the world of Life insurance, as a fresh-faced UTS graduate turned Claims Assessor, now 13 years ago. Since then, he’s worked in both Primary and Reinsurance businesses across the full value chain on both Life and Non-Life lines of business. John kick-started his Swiss Re career in 2012 as a Portfolio Analyst across Claims, Technical Accounting and Valuation, allowing him the opportunity to apply a data-driven approach along with acquired subject matter expertise to drive positive claims experience. In 2015, John led strategic growth initiatives, large transactions and innovative projects across APAC, with stints in both the European and US markets. John moved back to Sydney in early 2019 to join the newly established iptiQ ANZ team as Head Corporate Development, fascinated by the opportunity to learn and be part of something new; the launch of a true customer-led digital insurer. Since joining iptiQ, John successfully led the business case and initial standup of Australia’s first end to end digital insurance platform – launching in 2021. He continues to play a key role in ensuring connectivity across the iptiQ value chain as the team progresses on its journey to make life insurance trusted, affordable and simple to understand.

Sourav Shah: Sourav is the Global Product Owner of iptiQ’s claims platform. Sourav has had different technology roles in MetLife and iptiQ and was instrumental in the design and development of MetLife’s award-winning claims portal. Sourav was named in the annual Top Ten InsurTech Leaders for the year 2018 by the ACORD data standards. He was instrumental in creating standardised APIs to improve the integrations between Fund administrators and Life Insurers, enabling a Superannuation member to have a seamless digital experience. Sourav has also had a side hustle in the Child Care Technology space and launched a business after winning a GovHack Hackathon in 2015.
