Mobility in the cities of the future – What will it look like?

(ADELAIDE – Hybrid: Wednesday, 1st June 2022)

What might mobility look like in Adelaide’s Smart City future?

With the continuing importance of combating climate change and the subsequent innovations in transportation technology, its inspiring mobility and its place in Smart Cities are becoming an increasingly hot topic.

In part one of our Future of Mobility series, you’re invited to participate in a uniquely interactive event. Audience members and a panel of experts will discuss pressing issues in an open, two-way conversation around what future mobility looks like and what we need to do to make Australia a global leader in creating intelligent, sustainable, and liveable cities of the future.

Through this engaging format, expand your knowledge on the significant changes ahead for mobility, from breakthroughs in technology (such as autonomous vehicles), innovative applications, and the policies and regulations which will shape (and be shaped by) consumer demands.

Join us in person at our Adelaide hub to take part in this interactive event, as well as to enjoy a networking session with other members of the community following the event.

Can’t make it? You can also tune in online to watch from the comfort of your own home.

This event is a collaboration between Stone & Chalk, RAA, Insurtech Australia and ARUP.

Insurtech and ESG: Creating Resilience and Sustainability

(SYDNEY – In-Person: Wednesday, 24th August 2022)

Want to know more?

The insurance industry has long been in the vanguard of understanding and managing risk and has served as an important early warning system for society by amplifying risk signals. Through loss prevention and mitigation, by sharing risks over many shoulders, and as major investors, the insurance industry has protected society, shaped markets and underpinned economic development. Today, the risk landscape is rapidly evolving, spawning new and complex risks that threaten our increasingly scarce nature-based assets and undermine our common future.

The insurance industry plays a fundamental role in sustainable development, which is not a choice, but the only option. And the message is loud and clear – insurers are communicating strong risk signals stemming from a wide range of environmental, social and governance issues – from climate change, biodiversity loss and ecosystem degradation and water scarcity to poverty, emerging manmade health risks, ageing populations, child labour and corruption’ – Achim Steiner, United Nations, Under-Secretary-General and Executive Director, United Nations Environment Programme.

Free-market forces have been ineffective in mitigating the negative outputs of industry. Directors and executive leaders from all industries now join insurance in the fight to remedy this imbalance.

Insurtech has a meaningful role to play. Insurtech is helping to connect risk capital with new and previously uninsurable risks, and in-turn reducing the protection gap. Insurtech is providing better early warning systems and natural catastrophe propagation mapping to drive smarter loss prevention and stronger resilience.

At this event, we partner with Insurtech Gateway Australia and Envest to discuss the current status of ESG, the role of corporations in driving sustainability, and the critical role insurtech can play.

Speakers:

  • Binuo Erth, Managing Partner at Vellum Australia, where she seeks to positively impact the financial, environmental and social performance of tangible asset portfolios,
  • Tobias Grimm, Senior Manager Climate Risks at Munich Re, and
  • Simon O’Dell, Managing Director of Insurtech Gateway Australia, and
  • Danica Bunch, Strategic Engagement & Investor Relations of Insurtech Gateway Australia, as the Moderator

Join us at 5:30 pm Wednesday, 24th August. We look forward to seeing you there in person!
