We live in an age where the pace of change in innovation is accelerating and ‘simple’ is not often a word that is used to describe technology implementation. For the insurance industry, simplicity and transparency are what’s been needed for many years as incumbents struggle under the weight of old-world systems and processes.

The insurtech conversation in Australia has moved on from “if” to “how”.

If you were to start a new insurance company today, what would it look like? How do you think like a startup?

  • What would your customer digital experience be?
  • Who would you partner with and why?
  • How would you manage structured and unstructured data from the various sources, analytics and insights?
  • How do you apply a healthy mix of entrepreneurial energy to traditional insurance wisdom?…and where do you start to bring this to reality?

When it comes to innovation, there are a number of different models that incumbents are currently deploying but one thing they have in common is that they could all benefit from the use of startup methodology.

Learn how incumbents and their partners and suppliers, can cultivate relationships with insurtech founders and other key stakeholders, understand what makes tech startups so powerful at bringing about transformative change and learn how to align your mindset and business culture to gain the edge in tomorrow’s digitally-led market.

You’ll hear from a diverse range of speakers who will share their experience and learnings on this topic.

Speakers include (more to come, to be announced):

  • Dan Sandaver – co-founder and Managing Director of Australian scaleup company Codafication
  • Rita Yates – CEO of Insurtech Australia
  • Chris Maddock – Senior Manager, Group Research and Analytics at RAA
  • Suhit Anantula – CEO of GP InnoVentures

RAA of SA and Insurtech Australia are proud to host an evening of canapés and conversation, which we hope will enhance the collaboration between Insurtech and the Insurance ecosystem.

Who should attend?

If you are a startup looking to solve problems in the insurance industry, an insurance industry professional looking to do things differently, an investor, advisor or a generally interested party who just loves innovation/insurance!

• 5:30pm – Canapes and networking
• 6pm – 7pm Presentations and panel discussion
• 7pm – 7:15pm Q&A
• 7:30pm – Event close

Organiser of Insurtech Australia and RAA: How to Think Like a Startup

The Royal Automobile Association of South Australia Inc., or RAA as we’re known to most, has been around for more than 110 years and is one of SA’s most trusted and iconic brands.

Since starting out as a social club for a few motoring enthusiasts more than a century ago, we now have more than 800 employees and are much more than just a motoring organisation.

We have more than 700,000 members who are central to everything we do. We’re always working towards new ways we can better serve our members, while keeping them safe, secure and mobile at the same time.

Although we’re mostly known for our road service, helping thousands of broken down motorists get back on the road each year, we also offer trusted insurance, security and travel services.
