Andy has worked in financial services for the past 28 years across capital markets, wealth management and banking but with a specialisation in life and general insurance. During this time he has shaped and led complex business and IT transformation engagements for clients in the UK, mainland Europe, Asia, and Australia spanning business strategy, IT strategy, offshoring, outsourcing, and large scale software implementation. Andy has worked extensively with FinTech hubs to promote InsurTech within Australia and is a regular speaker on the topic of InsurTech and Innovation.

Karen is a columnist with the Women in Security Magazine and is a regular presenter at conferences and forums where she translates cybersecurity risk management into practical actions. Karen was recently named 2023’s inaugural Female Cyber Leader of the Year at the CyberSecurity Connect Awards in Canberra.

Melissa Collett is CEO of Insurtech UK, the largest formal alliance of insurtechs in the world. Insurtech UK’s mission is for the UK to be the global leader for insurance innovation. It has 130 members and partners and is the representative voice of insurtech in the UK.
Melissa has 25 years’ experience in the UK insurance sector, having previously been Executive Director of Professional Standards at the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII), where she was responsible for data ethics, legal, risk management, corporate governance and policy and public affairs. Melissa chaired the Digital Ethics Forum and developed the CII Digital Ethics Companion, and was consulted by the UK Centre for Data Ethics and Innovation and the World Economic Forum. She has also been an Advisory Board member of Innovate UK, which provides R&D funding for start ups. She is a frequent contributor to the insurance press, a keynote speaker at conferences, and judge of industry awards.
Melissa has an extensive background in consumer insurance and legal issues. She was Senior Ombudsman at the Financial Ombudsman Service, a Director at Fairer Finance and served as a Tribunal Judge. She is also a qualified lawyer, spending her early career at Hogan Lovells, specialising in insurance law. In 2022, she co-authored Female Determination, a collection of portraits and interviews with inspiring women. She was a finalist for Insurance Woman of the Year in 2021.

Ben is currently the Head of North-East Asia and ANZ for Descartes Underwriting, a specialist insurance agency focussing on natural hazards, extreme weather and emerging risks. He sits across Australian operations which commenced in 2021, Greater China operations based in HK which opened in 2022, and Japan based out of Tokyo which opened in May 2023.

Founded in Paris in 2018 and now working with 250+ corporations and public sectors exclusively via insurance intermediaries. Descartes offers a new generation of parametric insurance products: fully transparent, providing swift claims payment, bespoke & more affordable than traditional covers. Utilizing Machine Learning and real-time monitoring from satellite imagery & IoT, our state-of-the-art technology helps businesses bounce back faster against natural catastrophes and emerging risks.

Privacy terms
By registering to attend InsurtechLIVE 24, you provide your consent for Insurtech Australia to share your details containing your name, company and email with Business Partners or Exhibitors

Event Cancellation Policy

If after registering you are unable to attend, you are welcome to nominate someone else to attend in your place. If the substitute is not in the same membership category that was originally booked, ie. non-member or member, an additional fee may be due to reflect the correct rate for the substitute delegate to attend.

Subsitiutions can only be made up to 72 hours prior to the event.

If you cannot attend and would like a refund, requests must be in writing to suzanne@managementgroup.com.au.

Cancellation of registration 30 days or less but more than 14 days before InsurtechLIVE 24, 80% of the registration fee.
