Applications for the 2026 Lloyd’s Innovators Scholarship are open until 30th May 2026. The program is designed to recognise emerging leaders and inspire practical, impactful innovation across the market.
About the Scholarship:
This year, the scholarship has undergone a revamp to reflect the evolving risk landscape and the growing need for solutions that are both innovative and grounded in real-world challenges.
Lloyd’s understands that innovation does not always mean large‑scale disruption. Often, the most meaningful progress comes from small, purposeful improvements – the kind that address specific pain points, strengthen resilience and enhance the ability to support customers and communities. This philosophy underpins the refreshed direction of the 2026 scholarship.
Applicants are invited to center their one‑page pitch around one of two newly introduced themes:
- Climate Resilience & Extreme Weather Solutions
The APMEA region continues to experience increasing exposure to floods, bushfires, and severe storms. These challenges are widening protection gaps and creating affordability pressures. This theme encourages applicants to explore new approaches to community resilience, partnership models and responses to transition and climate‑related disclosure requirements.
- Digital Risk & AI‑Driven Insurance Innovation
Cyber threats and AI‑related risks are accelerating as businesses rely more heavily on digital infrastructure. This theme invites ideas that support integrated cyber solutions, strengthen AI governance, and improve modelling capabilities to better manage compound risks and operational resilience.
The Prize:
The Scholarship is designed to support winners in advancing their professional qualifications. Each scholarship provides enrolment in the ANZIIF course ‘Lloyd’s Demystified’, support towards an ANZIIF Diploma (valued at up to $5,000) and an Individual Insider one-year membership with Insurtech Australia (valued at $462).
Winners will also be invited to participate in a ‘day‑in‑the‑life’ experience at the Lloyd’s Australia Sydney office (travel at own expense), along with a mentorship opportunity provided by Insurtech Australia to help further develop the idea.
